RAVEN

Profile:  The founder and original High Commander of the Gray Corps, Raven stands as the paragon of the principles upon which he founded the Corps.  Once a brigand in times of old, making his fortune through the misfortune of hapless merchants and travelers, Raven lived his life as a hired mercenary, selling his services to the highest bidder.

Although tremendously rich in mundane treasures, Raven did not find the peace he sought in the glitter of coin or gem.  He lived in a world based upon the strength of steel and spell alike, and learned the hard lesson that no honour exists among thieves.  And those thieves were not only highwaymen who plagued Britannia's thoroughfares, but indeed the men in high places, the so-called rulers of the land, those of noble birthright.

Hence Raven founded the Gray Corps, starting as little more than a band of mercenary companions from Raven's tenure in the Royal Britannian Army.  However, the Gray Corps was much more than just a mercenary band.  It was a family, based upon honour, where the word of a member served as a solemn bond.

Raven led the Gray Corps for many years and through many adventures.  Through those years, Raven still sought peace and tranquility, reflecting back on his life.  This search for peace led him ultimately to the fabled city of Tanelorn, where he and the Gray Corps now reside.  In the tower spires of Tanelorn, Raven found the peace he sought in the understanding of the Cosmic Balance:  there must be a balance of all things, light and dark, law and chaos, good and evil.

Raven now serves as the Mayor of Tanelorn, and the Gray Corps serve to protect the mythical city, whose current denizens include Elric of the Dreaming City and his companion, Moonglum, Jhary-a-Conel and Rackhir the Red Archer.
